Training and Support Resources
You can locate and print the most recent version of this manual on the Learn page. The core of People.ua.edu is powered by Weebly. Their training and videos are located at http://help.weebly.com/. When referring to their site, you will see references made to both Free and Pro Service accounts. UA has purchased the Pro Service accounts for all our faculty members. However, not all features shown on their support site are available to faculty. The ‘Revenue’ feature may not be used without written permission by University Relations.
All sites are bound by Weebly's Terms of Service. Review them at http://www.weebly.com/terms-of-service/.
Your site will come preloaded with the UA template. The images in this guide are not UA images. Weebly does a great job at explaining their product so we chose to use most of their online guide as-is with a few modifications.

UA Logos and Images
Your website must have a University of Alabama logo in the header. Each site comes with a properly placed logo in the header as well as all the required text and links in the footer. This information must remain.
- The University Seal is reserved for Presidential use only. You may use a photograph of one.

ADA Compliance
All websites should comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. What does that mean for you? If you use good organization methods when constructing your website, chances are the site will be accessible.
- Titles – only use the title asset for true titles. If you want text to be larger and bold, then use the appropriate methods in the toolbar (increase font size with the + key, use the B icon for bold).
- Alignment – Use the left, center, or right alignment rather than adding in extra spaces or tabs.
- PDF files uploaded – make sure that all PDFs have been run through the OCR feature in Adobe Acrobat or some other software. The purpose is to make sure the text appears as text and not an image. OCR will scan an image and extract the text.
- Photos- Add Alt text to every photo. Do not embed text in a photo. It is unreadable by screen readers. See Accessibility Guidelines for further details.
- Video – Should be captioned. If not captioned, provide a transcript. Contact the Technology Accessibility office for assistance with captions and transcripts.
- Audio – Should have a written transcript.
- Avoid Flash files. They do not translate well with screen readers.
