Can I create a personal page, too?
Your people.ua.edu site is for professional use. As indicated in the Disclaimer statement, the site represents The University of Alabama and must follow UA Policies (https://www.ua.edu/about/policies/web).
Can I create an area for each class?
Within the site you may create a page for each of your classes. However, it is not designed for communication between student and faculty nor is it intended to replace Blackboard Learn.
Can I use my people.ua.edu site in place of Blackboard Learn?
People.ua.edu is not designed to replace Blackboard Learn. It does not tie into Banner in any way. Use people.ua.edu as your professional site.
How much data, including pictures and files, can I upload?
Currently, there are no limits on how much data can be stored on your site. There is, however, a 100MB size limit on each file uploaded.
Is there a limit to the size file I can upload?
As a people.ua.edu user, you can upload an unlimited number of individual files of no more than 100MB each. If you have problems, check the File and Image Upload Troubleshooting page for suggestions.
Is my site and data secure?
Every people.ua.edu site is hosted by Weebly’s data center redundant, cloud-based hosting infrastructure (Weebly is the people.ua.edu interface). Your site will be public and searchable. Be certain to keep your username and password secure. OIT offers some great suggestions on their Security page.
Is my site public?
Yes, your people.ua.edu site will be public. However, you can choose to password protect the entire site or just individual pages within the site.
How do I add search words and tags?
Weebly (the people.ua.edu creation tool) does a great job of teaching you everything you want to know about search engines and tags at this support page.
